I stopped here for a moment, not far from home, and looked back toward the town. It's always a wonderful sight, but last night was especially pretty with a lightly falling snow.
I liked the look of our new LED street lights. Actually, I loved the look.
After a short time of admiration and a quick pic I continued my trek home, and when I got there I felt happy that I had walked to Rotary instead of driving.
Here's version two of my walk, as described to a friend.
Tonight was wonderful for walking - no wind, light snow, 23 degrees, quiet.
Your email came while I was at Rotary but I couldn't read it during the meeting.
I devised a plan to read it after the meeting as I walked home.
The attached picture was taken about 250 yards from home, looking back toward town, with my back facing toward home. The streetlight in the foreground is the last one before walking downhill in the dark on the last little stretch of road to home.
It has become my habit to stop for a pee when I get into the shadows past the illumination of that streetlight because I always drink two glasses of wine during the Rotary meeting.
It's a pretty spot, high and overlooking the lake, and the houses along the street where I live, and it feels like I'm in my own special world.
Tonight I saved your email and when I had finished peeing two glasses of Merlot I got out my phone and basked in the pleasure of reading your fine message, then walked the rest of the way home.
