Friday afternoon I had the door open at camp for a few minutes and one of my friends stopped in for coffee. I had to climb my little step ladder in the kitchen to talk with him here. He had a delightful little sound - a soft, contented little whispered purr, I think. Reminded me of a visit with my Gramma Presley. (Don't ask. I have no idea why.) It's a most happy remembrance, though. After 10 minutes or so of admiring the little guy, talking to him, trying to get him to sit on my finger (yeah, right, wild birds are like parakeets...lol) I finally captured the chickadee in my hat and carried it out onto the deck where he made his merry way to the sunflower seeds and joined his other family. Come again, my friend.
